I am a college student at quite a diverse school. It's 39% hispanic/Latino, 25% African American, 23% caucasian, 10% Asian.
Most of the Hispanic girls at my school are proud parents. These are women between the ages of 18-22. I know quite a few 18 year old hispanics girls who have babies and I know one who is pregnant with her third child and she's 20. Although some of them are married, the majority of them aren't.
The U.S. Census says that Hispanics/Latinos population will more than double to 30% by 2039 from only 14% now. African Americans are said to have lots of babies are there is only going to be about a 3% increase in the black population by 2039. Do latinos just have babies earlier in life? Also why are they having so many babies? Is this some kind of trend in the Hispanic/Latino community?
I will try to approach this question as if it is a serious sociological question and not racist drivel, which I hope in your case it isn't ;) If it had not been for your use of statistics I would have wrote the question off. (You have to admit, the title could go either way. I was pleasantly surprised when I read the whole question :D )
ANSWER: Many Hispanic/Latinos are Catholic. Catholics do not believe in birth control. Sex-birth control= babies.
