Hello,
I always get stumped in interviews when they ask the "tell me about a
situation and how did you meet your deadline" questions. I always feel
stupid answering that one. Can you find me some excellent answers,
whether on the web or from your experiences as an interviewer. Thanks!
Yes, Mr or Ms Interviewer
I do pride myself on my ability to meet deadlines, and the tighter the
better. I just like working flat out.
How do I do it?
I take copious notes on what the project entails and, before shooting
off, I amalyse the requirements as best I can.
I then get my gang together and I lie to them ... I tell them the
deadine is actually shorter than it is. I do this because experience
tells me that most folk are over-optimistic and they do miss their
deadlines.
I then monitor progress regularly and, as soon as I see any sign of
slippage, I take whatever corrective measures are required.
Of course, I start off with that little bit in hand so, even there is
some over-run on MY private schedule, I ALWAYS make the REAL schedule.
(By the way, this is really what I do!)
