Atheism =/= Religion doesn't matter
I like religion, I think it's fun to discuss religion and spirituality and it's play in our world.
Is it an hour already? Religion has a major impact on society. Ergo, atheists as part of that society have every right to speak of it.
Atheists like to spread their word just like theists like to spread theirs.
Also, the must get their jollies somewhere, eh?
Why are there humans in the cats section? I guess we will never know.
Why do you ask a question that has been asked a million times? If you are secure in your faith then why does it bother you?
I like discussing it. Why talk in the cats section if you are not a cat?
The same thing that draws people who are not politicians to the politics section and people who are not cats to the cats section and people who are not authors to the books and authors section. Interest in the topic being discussed.
Why do people keep asking this question when there's a perfectly decent search function that will reveal it has been asked hundreds of times already?
It DOES matter.
Being an atheist doesn't mean I'm of the opinion that religion & spirituality don't matter. They matter immensely... they effect how I'm permitted to live my life whether I like it or not. Plus, I don't have to belong to any particular religion or spiritual worldview in order to answer questions pertaining to religion & spirituality.
Oh, and... when I try to discuss my metaphysical perspectives in the "Cats" section, they tell me to scram.
I come here for some of the interesting and foolish questions. Having a voice I comment on some of the questions. So far Yahoo hasn't taken away my ability to take part in the discussions. Are you frightened by Atheists?
It does matter. Christians keep introducing their religion into society through wacky laws. When I can buy booze on Sunday in all fifty states, when stem cell research can be done without being impeded by people who are worried that a clump of cells might have a soul, when atheists can be voted into public offices because there is no more prejudice against the non-religious -- then it won't matter.
I am trying to present to people like yourself that there is a cure for the religious virus and it lies with the believe in the scientific laws of the universe and biological evolution.
I believe there is an awareness of the mind on some level that has no choice but to believe in the order, harmony and intelligence of a scientific universe governed by laws. Some might call this a God process or religious science. There has always been so much religious dogma on the world market, it is easy to see how one would claim to be an atheist.
Why don't you ask Christians why they are in the GLBT section??
