How to block, stop "Messenger Service"?
I have AOL for my Internet connection when I travel in Mexico. I live
in Mexico. I think this is related.
I log on to AOL, open something to get on MS Explorer, then I open my
Outlook Express to download my emails from my email provider which is:
prodigy.net.mx it is through Telmex -- Mexican Telephone Company.
Anyway, ONLY with my AOL connection (I think) do I get these
"windows" popups (sort of) to open: "Messenger Service"
They are all different and tell me my system has, is infected with
Spyware.
They tell me to log on to:
Spydead.com
www.ErrorFixer.com
www.nomore-ads.net
www.fix-comp.com
And more.
Q--- How do I stop, block these? They are driving me nuts! Well they
sure do bug me!
Thanks.
God bless you to know and do His will!

Quick Note
Explorer and Outlook express has nothing to do with Messenger Service
Do what snapscan1212p-ga says
The other comments will only help you this time. Stop using Internet
Explorer and Outlook express. They are a haven for people who want to
mess up your computer.
Download Opera from www.opera.com, mailclient included.
If you are on Windows XP, Go To Start > Run
Then type "services.msc" without the quotes.
Find the service called "Messenger" and double-click it. Then choose
disable and restart the P.C.
Enjoy!
Also try ad-aware and spybot. I believe you are having trouble with spyware.
Here is Microsoft's page on disabeling the messanger service.

Or you could grab this utillity that will do it for you.
